Vice President of Marketing

Our client, a locally based but globally growing high technology company, is looking to enhance their executive team with a strategic and innovative Vice President of Marketing. This position is based in the Greater Toronto Area.  As a member of the Executive team, and reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Vice President, Marketing is accountable for overseeing all marketing activities including strategic planning,  corporate communications,  brand positioning and awareness building,  public relations, advertising,  market research, and  product management.  In addition to overseeing the development of the annual marketing plan/budget and formulating marketing strategies in alignment with overall corporate objectives, you will also contribute to the development of the multi-year business plan, and truly take accountability for growing the corporate brand and increasing awareness within a very niche and diverse technology industry. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee product marketing including product launch management, sales training, presentations, and sales tools.
  • Oversee marketing communications plan including branding, trade shows, seminars, advertising, and white papers.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales to develop, enhance and manage distributor and channel partner relationships.
  • Work with the President and other Executives to identify and integrate strategic acquisitions.
  • Manage and motivate a team of professional individuals located globally, from intermediate to senior levels, keeping them inspired and performing at optimum levels, looking for opportunities for growth and leadership development.
  • Act as a Spokesperson on behalf of the organization at seminars, tradeshows, with media and at industry events.
  • International travel for tradeshows, customer visits and events as aligned with the marketing strategy

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Marketing or business related field.
  • Minimum 10 years Marketing experience in a B2B hi-tech organization.
  • A leadership role in an international organization, managing a team within multiple locations.
  • Extensive exposure and experience taking a product from concept to launch.
  • Extensive knowledge of current the principles, practices and procedures for marketing and communications proven successful career in marketing premium priced technology products; the ability to work with product development and sales to identify and create new product and sales opportunities.
  • Significant experience working with third party agencies and vendors (i.e. advertising, PR firms).
