Our client, a locally based but globally growing high technology company, is looking to enhance their executive team with a strategic and innovative Vice President of Sales. This position is based in the Greater Toronto Area. As a member of the Executive team and reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Vice President, Sales is accountable to direct, develop, and implement the strategic and tactical sales initiatives in alignment with the annual and strategic business plans to achieve corporate growth. In addition to overseeing the development of the annual sales plan/targets and formulating sales strategies in alignment with overall corporate objectives, you will also contribute to the development of the multi-year business plan, and truly take accountability for growing corporate sales and increasing channel partnerships.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the annual and strategic business plan as part of the executive team.
- Manage, coach and mentor a team of junior, intermediate, and senior sales staff across multiple global locations.
- Develop and grow a high performing international sales team that will drive revenue and build successful distributor and channel partnerships at a global level.
- Maintain and enhance an accurate sales pipeline review process by working closely with the Vice President of Marketing and the Vice President of Operations to ensure there is an accurate rolling forecast for manufacturing.
- Manage strategic accounts and OEM relationships to maximize business opportunities.
- International travel as required for sales opportunities, tradeshows, customer visits and events as aligned with the sales strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree, preferably in business or marketing related field.
- Minimum 10 years Sales experience in a B2B hi-tech organization with a global focus.
- A leadership role in an international organization, managing a team within multiple locations and a variety of diverse customer bases.
- Extensive exposure and experience with channel management in an OEM automation manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to Mergers & Acquisitions.
- Must have a high level of initiative, strong analytical and decision-making skills, a team builder, coupled with exceptional communication/negotiation skills.
- Proven track record as an organized, hands-on leader/manager, who coaches, mentors, and motivates staff to be engaged in their career.
